PICK STAGE / GUIDE

Online wheel draws for OBS streams and events

Control the draw in the presenter window and show only the audience window on stream. Both windows connect within the same browser profile on one computer.

Set up a draw

1. Prepare entries and rules

Use nicknames or ticket numbers and check exclusion and weights. All four visual modes use the same draw rules. The title, entries and rules lock after the first draw: export rehearsal history as CSV, start a new draw and prepare the real event. Weights apply to reel, wheel, cards and lottery balls. They set the chance of each draw, without guaranteeing win counts in a small sample. Marble races ignore saved weights.

2. Open the audience window

Open the audience window from the top bar and allow the browser to open it. Move it to the intended monitor and press F for fullscreen. Keep the original presenter window open and draw there; Space in the audience window cannot start a draw.

3. Capture the audience window in OBS

Add a window capture source appropriate to your operating system to the OBS scene and select the Pick Stage audience window. macOS can use macOS Screen Capture; Linux can use PipeWire or Xcomposite as supported by its environment. Source names and selection vary by OS and OBS version. Check that setup controls and private information are absent from the preview.

Pasting the audience URL into an OBS Browser Source is not supported. OBS’s separate browser and another device do not share the presenter’s browser-profile connection.

4. Check audio and aspect ratio

Audio plays in the presenter window, not the audience window. Capture the presenter browser’s audio in OBS and use the music preview to check the audio meter. Adding video capture alone does not ensure audio capture; audio settings depend on the operating system. Choose Auto, 16:9 or 9:16 and use the aspect preview to check cropping and margins.

5. Rehearse before going live

Use the celebration test to check the audience window and OBS preview; it creates no draw history. Then make a test draw to check results, sound and text size, save any needed history and start a new draw. If the connection drops, keep the presenter open and reopen the audience window from there.
